Cookie Policy

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used on The Hospitality Nerd website and dashboard.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They're commonly used to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, or track activity across sites.
2. Cookies we use
Strictly necessarycookies are set by Supabase to keep you securely logged in to your account. These are required for the dashboard to function and can't be switched off if you want to use the Service.
On the public marketing site (not the logged-in dashboard), we use analytics to understand traffic and improve pages:
- Vercel Analytics — page views and visitor counts (privacy-focused, no advertising cookies).
- Microsoft Clarity — anonymised heatmaps and session replays on marketing pages so we can see scroll depth and whether CTAs are working. Clarity does not run on dashboard or login pages.
- Google Analytics — page views, scrolls, and outbound clicks on marketing pages (uses first-party analytics cookies such as _ga). Does not run on dashboard or login pages.
We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies.
3. Local storage
Some dashboard preferences, such as your chosen theme and date range, are saved in your browser's local storage rather than a cookie. This data stays on your device and isn't sent to us; it's only used to restore your preferences the next time you visit.
4. Third-party cookies
Our contact form is delivered through Web3Forms, which may use its own cookies or safeguards for spam prevention when you submit the form. We don't control these directly; check Web3Forms' own policies for details.
5. Managing cookies
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Since we only use strictly necessary cookies for login, blocking them will prevent the dashboard from working correctly.
6. Changes to this policy
If we introduce marketing cookies or a consent banner for non-essential tracking, we'll update this page before those cookies are set.
7. Contact us
