Quiet nights
How to fill the nights that would otherwise stay empty, without cutting your rate.
The Quiet nights tab in Plan Ahead finds nights over the next four weeks that your own history says will be quiet, and tells you what to do about each stretch. It is a careful form of penetration pricing: pricing lower to win guests, aimed only at nights that would stay empty.
A price cut has to sell more rooms just to take the same money. Cut by 5% and it has to sell about 5% more rooms to break even. So we only suggest a lower rate where you are priced above the market on a quiet night, and then just under the middle of the market, not a deep cut. Where you are level with the market we suggest adding value instead, such as breakfast or a package. Where you are already below the market and still quiet, price is not the reason, so we point you to your listing, restrictions and minimum stay.
Every offer is fenced from your best rate (book ahead and non-refundable, direct only, or two nights or more), limited to a quarter to a third of your rooms, and stopped after two weeks or once the nights are filling. Plan it as a campaign from the tab, and Did it work? tells you afterwards whether it brought in more money than the discount cost. We cannot see your bookings, so look at them before changing a price.
